Leyland Cypress 'Leightons Green' (Cupressocyparis leylandii) - box of 40 seedlings
Leyland cypresses grown in 50mm wide by 80mm deep tubes. Well established root systems ready for transplanting with tops averaging 30-40cm tall and 2 years old.
Leightons Green is a fast growing, hardy and cold tolerant, deep green coloured cultivar which will grow up to a metre per year once established. The perfect windbreak or screening tree and also grown by some as a very dense and naturally conical Christmas tree with minimal shaping required. They can be pruned to form a long-lived and dense hedge that will block all wind and light and even absorb some sound. Plant out in the cooler months around Australia. Trees are frost hardened in our nursery and will survive temperatures down to -8 or more.
Plant at 1.5-3m apart for hedging at 1.5-2m for Christmas tree production. Keep weeds down and water well in dry periods for at least the first year if planting out directly to allow them to establish. Ensure planting site soil is well drained and/or sloping to avoid development of root canker diseases.
