Himalayan Spruce (Picea smithiana) - Potted trees

An ornamental conifer native to the himalayas and nearby mountains - featuring blue-green, long drooping branches and needles. This hardy spruce is moderately fast growing and thrives on rocky or sandy soils with good drainage. This species grows well on acidic soils as low as pH 4 and up to 6. It is frost hardy and drought tolerant, growing very large over time, upwards of 40m. The tree forms a good windbreak when young and is often used as a stand-alone garden feature.
