Seedling info:

Fraser Fir seedlings ready to plant out in the field or pot up - averaging 10-15cm tall. This variety is a very delicate, slow growing, tree which grows into a beautiful landscape feature, or shapely premium Christmas tree. The tree requires a well drained soil and will quickly sicken or die on waterlogged or heavy soils. The fraser fir is frost tolerant down to -30 degrees Celsius or more, and requires a cold winter with regular frost or snow. Prefers acidic soil pH 5.0 - 6.5.

Growers:

Plant out directly in the field in cool conditions or pot up and grow on for 1-2 years to get your trees ahead of the weeds and give them time to adapt to your climate. Avoid fertilising in the first few months after planting as this can burn seedlings. Fraser fir are slow growers and highly sensitive to heat and drought. They will need regular additional watering and care until well established Keep weeds down around the tree for at least the first two years and water in well after planting until established. Fraser firs need gentle slopes or hilly terrain with good drainage. Expect a Christmas tree crop in 8-10 years from planting out in the field. These trees are the top variety inthe U.S. and retail as Christmas trees for high prices around the world. They have a very attractive symettrical growth pattern and very good needle retention.
